According to the section 2.2 of the RTI act, a physician must respect the confidentiality of the patient and should until requested by any law 4. High administrative costs for data processing have led to the increase of the outsourcing of the information of the patient, in order to reduce the costs. Cross border flow of the information can lead to disclosure of the patient's information[5]. The government has enacted the Information Technology (Reasonable security Practices and procedures and sensitive Personal Data or Information) Rules, 2011 (IT rules)5. These have to some extent strengthened the data protection law in India. Contrary to the strong rules about disclosure in US and UK, the Supreme Court has chosen to follow the cases by case approach for the interpretation of the privacy rules[6]. Although in most of the cases the hospital chooses to maintain the confidentiality of the patient information, there had been cases where the hospital has been allowed by the court to disclose the HIV status of the patient to his future spouse3. The reason for these types of disclosure has been the public welfare argument, in order to stop the spreading of the disease. To determine the value of the medical records as the evidence Medical records of a patient contains numerous information acquired from various sources, such as the patients clinical history, symptoms , pains, ongoing medications, treatment regimen applied1. It acts as a single most evidence for the clinical practitioners in lawsuits, inquests or hearings. The medical records can act as relevant information against any medical malpractice or an ordinary negligent action. Any tort law can be applied in the basis of these medical records. Medical records can be presented as any evidence to support or defeat a person's claim2. It has also been found that medical records can act as evidence for claims against any professional ethics breaches or billing frauds6. Conclusion The codes of ethics by the Medical Council of India have compelled the doctors to maintain the confidentiality and the electronic preservation of the health care records1. Media studies comparative Essay Over the last twenty-five years the television series Doctor Who (and others) have altered massively. Different styles of presenting television shows, the way actors act and the certain way the story flows ultimately means that the new Doctor Who series is shown in a brand new light. This essay sets out to outline and highlight similarities and differences between the old Doctor Who of the 1980s and the brand new series that was recently aired. Many techniques have changed over the years; the new series is a prime comparative example of whats changed, and whats not. Russell T Davis, the writer of Doctor Who has written the story in such a way it reflects current society truths. He wrote Rose Tylers part on par with the Doctors own story; he later said neither was more important than the other. However in The Leisure Hive the author gives the Doctor a much more superior role compared to Romana who isnt that important and doesnt do very much. In the new series Tyler is given a much bigger part, she has more to say and do and is vital for the Doctors plans to succeed. Tyler and Romana also get very different times on the screen. For instance in the Leisure Hive the Doctor and Romana are in the shot. They both have equal space, the doctor is standing and is ready for action, but Romana is sitting down looking casual ready to sit and watch it all. (This is the scene where the space ship goes over their head). As I have already deduced Romana isnt that essential in the Doctors plans and so naturally doesnt spend as much time acting as the Doctor, whilst Tyler, the Doctors close assistant does. Its all down to the fact that society has changed the way we portray and look at women on television. Something else that has also changed is the way Tyler acts. She is a lot more masculine than Romana who can be described as girlie and weak. Tyler wears more casual and unisex clothes like jeans, trainers and a tee shirt while Romana is wearing a much more eccentric dress and heels. Tyler and Romana also contribute very different narrative. Tyler has more to say and do than Romana who is basically a background support actor. Because Tyler is invaluable to the story line she is given much more action than Romana. Most key points and advances in knowledge are made by Tyler, Romana on the other hand does help but she is also a slight hindrance. This is due to her weak attitude and the way she shows herself to the audience. Romana seems to be the person to go with the flow. She comes across to the audience as someone who means well, but is very lazy and doesnt want to be there. This is also something else that makes Tyler seem more genuine and realistic. Over the years people have slowly began to stop speaking in Standard English. They began talking in a much more slangeey way. Romana still speaks in Standard English. She is very posh, and thinks highly of herself, Tyler on the other hand is much more forward chatty and seems down-to-earth the average person youd see in the street. This attracts us in, as Tyler is someone we would like to know, she behaves and acts, as we would like to do ourselves. Many things have happened since the release of The Leisure Hive. Romana was told to act in a certain way and she did. Now we can look back and discuss what has not changed. In some cases they can be very similar, but mostly they act both as they are expected. In general both characters have got the characteristics to be successful assistants. They are brave, heroic and clever these are some of the type of abilities needed which have not changed over the years. Tyler and Romana are the same in the sense that they both want to help, but overall Tyler swings it with the authentic acting, and genuine personality with really makes differences to the viewer and how he or she portrays women now. With our country’s current situation, consequently it became an issue. Similar to coin tossing, this argument has its heads and tails thus it earned different public reactions; an approval from those who viewed K+12 as the answer to the poor quality of basic education and stern rebukes from â€Å"folks whose pocketbooks would be adversely impacted by the proposed additional 2 years of basic education† (Cruz, 2010).Hence, If equated to analogy, the product of the old curriculum with a K-6-4 structure and the new curriculum having K-6-4-2 model can be compared to two newborn babies, a premature baby (half-baked graduates) whose needs must be addressed in order to survive and a normal one (the ideal graduate) . Futhermore, I consider the features of K+12 to be more an advantage in enhancing our quality of education but the conflict here is the preparedness of the crucial elements needed to be procured by DepEd as it turned out to be an untimely implementation.The cons reckoned many drawbacks of K+12 as they consider it an impediment and an additional burden especially to parents. As I have mentioned earlier, the main concern that I think must be addressed first is the readiness of every component of education, including sufficient classrooms, chairs, teachers and equipment.Citing the present status of my own school as an example, classroom an d teacher shortage is the main problem because we have a high rate of enrolment but the teachers are compelled to hold big classes (sometimes seventy or more pupils in one section) in dilapidated and improvised classrooms, even in shade houses within the school premises. In addition, sufficient educational supplies such as error-free workbooks and other teaching materials are still of great demand.Answering these needs will not be done with just a blink of an eye. Thus, implementing the new curriculum this early is a premature step because majority of its vital parts is not yet developed and realized. However, we are hoping that these issues will be immediately settled upon knowing that DepEd is one of the priorities of the present administration having a hefty P1,645 trillion budget. The positive features of K-12 stand out as it provide more benefits over the previous system in terms of quality education.The proponents believed it is the answer to our country’s ailing need a s they figured out the following reasons: K+12 will produce graduates who are competent, physically, mentally and emotionally ready in their field of endeavor because the additional two years in the Senior High School curriculum will serve as the student’s career assessment as it offers areas of specialization or electives such as science and technology, music and arts, agriculture and fisheries, sports, business and entrepreneurship.It will help the students define what college course is suitable to his skills and interests which will make them excel in their chosen field. Converting Files into Different Formats Jay Kybert       Converting files to different formats is useful for several applications. One of the most common reasons for converting a file is to compress it, whether an image, audio track, etc. Compression is a useful computer tool that reduces the space these files takes up, the easiest way to convert a file for the average user is to simply enter the new file extension. Users can activate an option that allows them to see the file extension (.txt, .JPG, etc.). By navigating to File Explorer Options, users can untick the option marked red in the image below, this allows the extension to be shown on known file types, and therefore manually altered if wanted. The results of compression entirely depend on the type of file being converted and what its being converted to. For example, converting a .PNG file (Lossless Compression) to a .JPEG (Lossy Compression) will save space by decreasing the file size of the image, but it will also decrease the overall image quality due to the different methods of compression. File sizes vary dramatically, saving in one format may make the image look more crisp, but at the expense of a lot of disk space. Although it could be the complete opposite, with poor quality but little disk space. Bitmaps, a type of image that uses arrays of different coloured pixels, are the most common and efficient type of image. Vector images use lines and equations to create simpler and less-detailed images. Because of this, they are typically smaller in file size, but lack detail. Once a bitmap image has been created and is about to be saved, the user needs to know what the purpose of the image is, whether to have a high quality, large image, or the opposite. Bitmap images do allow for users to control the amount of compression the file will undergo, typically in the form of a variety of file formats or advanced compression options. The JPEG file format is widely used due to its several layers of compression. The image can be slightly compressed, if the space is needed, all th e way to 10% of the original file size (at the expense of the images quality). The table below details some of the common bitmap file formats, and some information regarding them. The JPEG is one of the most common file formats used in storing images. It has a variety of compression options that use a specific algorithm to reduce the quality to whatever the user wants. Its compression algorithm is lossy, meaning that the compression does degrade the overall quality of the image by decreasing the number of colours, making certain shades the same colour, etc. These methods reduce the number of bits required to store the file. As mentioned previously, JPEG is a useful file format since the user decides how compressed the image is going to be. Therefore, depending on the users preference, the file can be a slightly larger than normal JPEG but it will provide a crisp image. A PNG file uses lossless compression to provide a clear image with some element of compression. It is very similar to GIF (Graphics Interchange Format), however it does not support animations. When using the screenshot feature on a computer, many operating systems choose to compress the image automatically, saving more space. However, the Macintosh OS and some versions of Linux save a .PNG which is almost the raw, uncompressed image, providing a clearer picture. Opposite to lossy compression, lossless compression doesnt affect the original quality of the image and still decreases file size; however, it doesnt save as much space as lossy does. It works by reading the data of the bitmap and rearranging it in a more efficient way. Once the file is reopened there is no change in quality, only the file size has changed. To show the difference in compression and file size, I downloaded a royalty-free image from a website. I chose to save it as a .PNG, the image on the left proves this. I then saved the same image as a .JPEG. The image on the right shows this. The PNG file is almost five times larger than the JPEG, this clearly shows the relationship between file size and image quality. The organisation of a computer system is completely pointless if the files arent named appropriately. Younger computer users may simply write a keyword that has relevance, for instance a string of lyrics for an .mp3 song. This relevance in naming allows users to easily find the file later. However, naming a file random numbers or letters if in a hurry makes it harder to search for in the future, especially if there are lots of files on the same system. The image below shows two of my files and how they are organised on the system. For similar reasons to naming files, folder structure is very important to many people who use computers regularly and store a variety of data. Folders give a structure to the disk that is storing the information. Many operating systems have folders even before the user creates their own, they are designed for organisation. The best example of this is Windows Downloads, Documents, Music, Pictures, and Videos. Even though there are no restrictions on allowing a user to place a document in the Video folder, it would be counter-intuitive to do so. With businesses, where lots of information is stored, a vast amount folders are needed to cater to the variety of information; otherwise it would be difficult finding a specific file amongst thousands of other files. Creating subfolders is useful for this. Below is an example of my personal folder structure for this course. Lossless compression, as mentioned previously, is a method of reducing file size without affecting the overall quality of the image. It rearranges the data for the image in a more efficient way, which reduces the file size slightly, but preserves all the original bitmap. Therefore, the image looks as good as the original picture and takes up a smaller amount of disk space. If wanted, the compressed image can be changed back into a raw format, with no decrease in quality but an increase in file size. Lossy compression works by removing less-important parts of the bitmap, this reduces the number of bits required to display the bitmap and therefore the file becomes smaller. The less-important parts of the image are usually similarly-looking shades of colour, or colours altogether. By using less-colours or removing certain parts of the bitmap, the image still looks like the original but with less detail, depending on the amount of lossy compression depends on the compressed quality. Thus, files that use lossy compression have a much smaller size, but also poorer quality. Video files, audio files, etc. can also be affected by lossy compression. Imagine yourself in the shoes of a person who has been oppressed their entire life. Imagine all the laws that were made to protect you have not been effective one bit. Imagine yourself as a minority in the second largest community in the world. Yes, I am talking about the women in India. Why do some women live like slaves when the men thrive as the superior race in India Customs, traditions, rustic beliefs are some of the answers that advocate male superiority in the country. Some of the facts that you read a1bout women on the internet are outrageous. According to a survey done in 2011 every 42 minutes, an incident of sexual harassment takes place. Every 43 minutes, a woman is kidnapped. Every 93 minutes, a woman is killed. Every 102 minutes, a dowry death. Surprised yet? These are only a few from the thousands of facts. Women are discriminated on a daily basis in the society, workplace and even at home while men on the other hand live like the emperors of the society. India portrays the image of society with men holding the whips, and taking control. It is as common to find women oppressed in the cities, as much as they can be oppressed in the remote villages. Majority of the women in India live in the fear of raising their voices, for they have been robbed of their rights and have been imprisoned to a world where they are voiceless. Even though today’s women are far more modern and independent, they are still haunted by the views and believes of the older generation where women are meant to be ideal housewives who take care of the family, feed them, maintain them and nothing more, while men are free to decide their future and choose what they want to be. A woman has equal rights as a man, she can choose the life she wants and the way she wants to live it. She shouldn’t be burdened with the views of the society or tradition. It is tough to believe that when 82 per cent of the men are educated only 65 per cent of women in India were lucky enough to have had the liberty to attend school. This shows  the ignorance and negligence of the parents who fail to ensure the education of their girl child. It is not surprising that India has the lowest workforce participation rate from women. You might think the few women who make their own living lead a better life, well think again. Only 4 out of every 10 women take part in a corporate office. The work participation rate of men in India is almost double as that of women. Women continue to be concentrated in jobs with low pay and authority levels placing limits on their overall access to income, status and power while men continue to dominate the top positions of the firm ensuring higher payment and better job security. The numbers of women that hold managerial positions in India are exceptionally low. Multinational companies prefer men to be the face of their organization to be more appealing to the public. On top of all the work load and discrimination, women go through a lot of mental as well as sexual harassments at work. There are constantly challenged by the nature of their work and the environment they are placed to work in. Unlike men the work of a woman does not end outside the doors of the office, she gets back home to take on the next set of mundane tasks. From the very beginning a girl is taught to do the household works while her brothers are treated like kings. Boys of the family have the rights to be out as long as they want and when a girl misses her curfew by a few minutes all hell breaks loose. It is almost like she has no voice of her own, everyone else makes a decision for her. Let it be a child or a full grown women, she never escapes the discrimination. In the modern world where men and women are working members of the family, the wife is still expected to come home at the end of the day and take care of the rest of the family and attend to their needs. She is expected to provide and nurture others with nothing in return while the only duty of the man is to earn for the family. Statistics shows that an average woman in India spends almost 10 years of her life in the kitchen while an average man at most would have spent 4 years. In India physical abuse of Indian women is high ranging from 22-60 percent and the suicide attempts due to violence and torture is shocking. 74.8 percent of women who reported violence have attempted to commit suicide. What is more surprising is that these statistics are from within  the four walls of their â€Å"safe home†. Despite the efforts of many women and political group to end discrimination against women, it still goes on. Every now and then a strike or a rally is conducted to educate the youth the importance of women in the society but the enthusiasm and the energy of these programs dies away the next day. Women will not have their rights and freedom in the society until there is a change in the mindset of men. This is the twenty first century, along with the development in science and literature we need to develop a society where women are no longer discriminated, a society where women and men hold equal positions at work and at home. I chose this topic as I am very interested in what the school has to offer to people who enjoy other activities outside of school. Also I participate in a lot of these activities so I had a very good understanding of how they have developed and achieved. I also think that all students should be aware of what extra curricular aspects the school offers as it helps them to learn how to work as a team and get to know the rest of the students better. Choice of application I have chosen Microsoft power point to present my presentation as I am familiar with this application from other assignments and therefore I have a good understanding of how to use it. It is also very time efficient when presenting information to an audience as you do not waste time changing overheads. Also images, graphs, sounds and diagrams can be added which makes it more interesting to watch. Microsoft power point allows me to import images from discs and also the internet to use in my presentation, which is very helpful as clip art does not have all the necessary images I may want. The slide show allows me to choose how I want to design the slide and what information I want to be entered. It allows me to choose the timing of the changes in the slide and what effects I want added. Planning my slide show 1st slide: For my title I will use Kristen ict font and will have it at size 44. My title will be My multimedia presentation. For the image from clipart I will use a woman on a computer. I will also add a cheering sound to add more effect. The title will become big and then decrease into position as the name will appear. The image had a blinds effect added and also the sound will come on. 2nd slide: The spider diagram will contain all the after school activities and the information beside it will tell use about the activities. I will choose bright colours for the spider diagram as it will be more attractive and will attract my audiences attention better. My Title will be After School Activities and will also be size 44 and Kristen Ict. I will choose a bright back ground so it is more appealing. The title will have the effect to bounce in from the right and the information will appear as a blinds effect. The spider diagram will appear from coming from the bottom after the information has finished appearing. 3rd slide: My 3rd slide will be based on the after school activity Gaelic. Gaelic will be my title and will be font Kristen Ict and will be size 44. I will explain the background for our Gaelic team and how people can join, in the information part. I will have a picture of a Gaelic team for my image and will rotate it after the information has been brought in with the effect diamond. I have also made this background colourful to attract people and will do so throughout my presentation. This slide will show the option of the school choir. It will have information on the achievements and how to join. I will have to scan a picture of the school choir onto the slide as the clip art does not contain a picture of the school choir. The title will descend into position as the text comes in from the right. The image will have a checkerboard effect also. My fifth slide will be on the schools netball team. I will have information on when and how you can join the team. The text will have a colour typewriter effect added to it. The two images I will have, I will download them from the schools website and have a swivel effect to the pictures. My title will have two effects, unfold and then peek in as these are both very short effects. My last slide will contain information on our Hockey activities. I will explain in my text the past of our school hockey team and also the training days for anyone who wants to join. The effect, which I will use to present this text, will be unfold. This takes a long time to complete so I will have to readjust the time so that it will be quicker. I will have an image imported from the Internet of a tackle in hockey. This image will sling from the left and then settle in the correct position. The title will have a stretch effect when it is entering. To import the images I will use in my slide show I will have to visit the sites, which contain these pictures and saves them in My Pictures. I will then be able to add them to my clip art where I can use them for my presentation. This is the web site I used to import my video clip I clicked the second button on my mouse and then I saved it to my computer. I then went to my presentation and added the video to my clip art. I used the same method for importing the images I used but I got most of the images from the Thornhill web site. My presentation will be designed for teenagers between 12 and 18. I will try to adapt my presentation to my audience as much as possible in the appropriate way. I will use bright colours to attract their attention and use as little writing as possible but enough for them to understand and not get bored. I will use effects that will also attract their attention and will make them want to read the presentation. I will try and use as much images as I can to explain what my presentation is about. I have decided to make the presentation on a topic that includes The audience as it is about their school and what they have to offer them as extra curricular activities. i will also add sounds to my presentation to keep the audience attentive and it will also make them want to listen. For my font I will make it less formal and try to adapt it to one, which is suitable for my audience.
